Frequently Asked Questions

Congratulations, you’re pregnant! Now, you’ll need to make an appointment with your primary care physician or gynaecologist right away. They can professionally evaluate you and confirm your pregnancy.

In some cases, a pregnancy test may result in a false positive, owing to reasons such as previous abortions or miscarriage, incorrect test kit usage, or certain medications that trigger a rise in human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels.

All the more that you should seek a professional consultation!

It could be that you’ve waited too long to check the result. We get distracted as the kettle starts whistling or when the phone chimes, it happens! That is why you may experience evaporated lines. Urine samples that have been kept for too long are also unsuitable for the test.

We encourage you to read the instructions before self-administering the test. Also, check that you are not using the twoplus Fertility Pregnancy Test Kit (by Point of Care) beyond its expiry date.

Home pregnancy test kits like twoplus Fertility’s high-accuracy solution are a good preliminary diagnosis in most cases if they are used correctly. That’s because they detect hCG in your urine, which is produced when you are pregnant.

However, there may be instances of false positives or negatives. Common reasons for these readings include taking the test too early during a missed period, checking the results window late (see Question 2), or simply using the test kit incorrectly. Ensure that you have the test’s instructions and administer it during the recommended time frame.

If you still have doubts regarding your pregnancy test result’s accuracy, visit your gynaecologist for a more definitive reading.

For more accurate test results, we recommend using the twoplus Fertility Pregnancy Test Kit (by Point of Care) up to five days before your period is expected to begin, or nine days after ovulation starts.

Taking the test immediately on the day where you’ve missed your period may be considered ‘too early’ because there is insufficient time for your body to build up a detectable level of hCG.

It’s okay to feel alarmed in the event of a missed period or if you start experiencing early pregnancy symptoms. However, the former can be due to causes like stress, an illness, irregular sleep cycles, flying frequently, certain medications, or specific afflictions like Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

Early pregnancy symptoms can be the result of a combination of common daily discomforts, including fatigue, frequent urination, breast tenderness, and food sensitivity.

However, the test result could also be a false negative. There are various reasons for this, including testing before you miss your period. Remember, hCG levels take time to build up after a successful fertilisation occurs. Additionally, drinking too much water before taking a pregnancy test could dilute the hCG in your urine and lead to false negative.

Therefore, consult your primary care physician or gynaecologist if you feel that you are pregnant, even if your pregnancy test at home shows otherwise.

Don’t worry, both methods are equally accurate. However, if you choose to collect a urine sample in a cup, perform the test as soon as possible. If the results are inconclusive, simply buy another pregnancy test from the twoplus Fertility webstore and try again.

For the most accurate results, perform the test in the morning.
